Stencil Graffiti Unit

Art 10 Writing About Art


Part 1:
1. Define stencil graffiti.
2. Describe your own stencil graffiti artwork.


Part 2:

Look up the following art sites:

Choose two stencil graffiti examples that appeal to you. Copy and past each artwork into a word document. Answer each of the following:
1. Describe the artwork (subject, colour, design & complexity).
2. Where is the stencil located? What can you tell from the photo?
3. Why did this stencil stand out to you/ catch your eye?

Do you think stencil graffiti is as important or as meaningful as traditional kinds of fine art (painting or sculpture for example)? Why or why not?
